About Best Vein Care

The Process

The Application for recognition as a Best Vein Care Center of Excellence is a three-phase process, which includes the completion of a Preferred Physician Provider query and a Center of Excellence self-assessment and site visit.

The First Phase

The intent of the Physician Provider query, is to verify the education, training and experience of the physician(s) providing care in the vein center. Because of its regulatory framework, Best Vein Care's verification process is similar to those conducted by health care facilities when applying for medical staff membership. When verification is complete, the application process will move forward to the next phase.

The Second Phase

Self-Assessment

The intent of the assessment is to recognize the strengths of the center and to identify opportunities for improvement based upon their performance within the Standards of Excellence.

Completion of the assessment is facilitated by the Chief Verification Officer and other certified Best Vein Care representatives during a telephone interview with the physician and/or his or her designee(s). This interactive approach was designed to build a foundation for a team approach to the site visit. To gain an global view of a center, the physician and team members are encouraged to participate.

Site Visit

The purpose of the visit is to validate the findings of the center’s self-assessment through observation and, it is at this time, that a value point is assigned to each quality measurement performed. The value points are based upon an objective rating system developed by the Advisory Board with a total of 150 achievable points.

The Final Phase

When the validation, verification and assignment of value points for the applying vein center is complete, the findings are presented to the Physician Quality Committee. While they lend the final stamp of approval for recognition as a Center of Excellence, it is the sum total of the measurement value points that determines the center’s designation status. To maintain pure and uninfluenced recommendations for participants, a mechanism was intentionally established whereby the Board's majority has no financial investment in Best Vein Care.

Why apply for recognition as a Best Vein Care Center of Excellence?

Designation as a Preferred Center of Excellence or a Premiere Center of Excellence is synonymous with a commitment to pursue, achieve and maintain the highest quality of vein care today. Applying for this prestigious recognition is voluntary and it is awarded solely upon the number of value points earned.

As William A. Foster stated, "Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives."
